I was an autonomous-driving software engineer. Predicting vehicle behaviors from statistical data was my daily work.
It started from a glance.
At our first ultrasound after my wife was pregnant, I saw my daughter unexpectedly on screen, at which time she was about the size of a blueberry. So we decide to call her, blueberry!
So I started to build one myself, based on my parenting needs and experience. And, I'm adding something cool. Then comes the, Blueberry!
From a first glimpse to everyday care.
As a former autonomous-driving software engineer, I spent my days using statistical data to predict vehicle behavior. After becoming a father, I started thinking about how the same kind of pattern recognition might help me understand what my baby might do next.
I wanted the app to be:
- Good-looking and easy to use.
- A place where I keep full control of my data without relying on an internet connection.
- A way to predict my baby's behavior so I can plan ahead.
- A shared space where multiple caregivers in my household can keep up with the baby's data.
I transferred what I knew about vehicle behavior prediction into baby behavior prediction. In some dimensions, they are surprisingly similar. Combined with my experience as a father, that knowledge became Blueberry™.
